We got to go down to the farm for this spring's General Conference. YAY! I get ansty when I'm not able to go down that often. What made it better was that it wasn't too long ago when I took Riley and Bridget down when we went with Grandma. But anyways, we took the girls down on Saturday during the first session, and Riley was so excited all day she was jabbering about going to Grandma and Grandpa Great's house. When we got there, she wasn't too shy which made me happy and Bridget just remembered how much attention she got there for everything she did so of course she was happy about being there. Grandpa Great, Grandpa and Sarah were out moving pipe when we got there, but all Riley wanted to do was go ride the horses. She was going around the house telling anyone and everyone who would listen how much she wanted to go ride the horses. So when Grandpa came back inside and she was told she would have to ask Grandpa Great to go ride horses, she went right over and asked. I was worried because Grandpa Great was tired and about six months ago we took Riley to Thanksgiving Point and Grandma Julie bought her a ticket to ride the little ponies tied to the hot walker. She was so excited until we got up close and she FREAKED OUT. And not in a good way, she wouldn't even go in the pen where they kept the horses. So needless to say I was worried Grandpa Great would go to all that work for Riley to freak out and end up sitting in the back of the truck the whole time. But she asked him and his eyes perked up and he smiled. "You sure can. Come on, let's go." Even though he was really tired and he still had a lot of work to do, he was willing to indulge my children. And this was the payoff.
YAY! She rode and Bridget rode and they LOVED it! That's all they could talk about for the week after. She's still talking about it. This weekend was Easter weekend and we got the chance to remember and celebrate the resurrection of our Savior and think about what he did for us. We also get to take pictures of our kids in their cute clothes looking for brightly colored eggs in the yard.:)
My Bridgee. She's gonna be a heart breaker.
