Nap Time is a Magic Time.

There is a moment in my home when everything works, all my projects are going as planned, and it's serenely quiet...
 Where everyone relaxes...
And finds a nice comfy spot... (ignore how disgusting my carpet is please)
And drift off into a magical dream filled sleep...

And when that time is over...
Our own special piece of heaven is present.
Because we've all had our naps and we're happy:)

Not Sure What to Post...

I have something that I really need to say out in the open , but I think I need to resolve the mysteries behind it first. Other than that I'm pleased to announce Pippin is an idiot, but we love her anyway. She does really well with the potty training then out of no where she'll start peeing everywhere again. Riley is kinda doing the same thing and what is it with kids and waiting until the VERY LAST SECOND to go to the bathroom? Serioulsy! She dances around for 5 minutes straight while I'm trying to coax her into the bathroom then when she finally comes to sit on the toilet she's practically peeing down her leg. Bridget is quickly learning how to talk and we've discovered she's a bit of a scrapper and a bully. If someone does something she doesn't like she'll push and glare at you from under her eyebrows. While it is cute, I'll have to nip that in the bud, I can't have her shoving people just because they do something she doesn't like. We have several things going on at the house, Tim has got the basement all sheet rocked and now we just need to mud and tape and sand and paint it all. Then my nail room will be DONE!!!! Hallelujah!! Tim has seeded the lawn and we've got several plans for flowers in the front yard. I want to do flowers in the back yard too, but we'll have to wait on that. And Justin comes home in August and I'm super stoked about that. As of right now I have eaten half a bag of baby carrots. And I don't mean the little bags. Anyway, our Realtor just came and brought us a 50$ gift card for Texas Roadhouse, which is really nice. Is it weird I'm glad we have bought a home but I'm sad we're not looking to buy anymore because we won't get to work with them anymore? They were super awesome guys and the whole process went so well. Which brings me to the fact that Rory and Dorthy got an offer accepted on a home out in Magna. It's tiny, but I think it'll be good for them, and I'm really excited for them. Now I need to go get a crying baby out of room before I just get a death stare.

Sew Crafty...:)

Lately I've been sick so I've been pretty worthless at getting things done around the house. But, while I was sick I didn't actually waste all my time sitting around. I was sewing. One night Tim and I climbed into be d and noticed there was a hole in our fitted sheet. These sheets had been through four years of marriage, two kids, and two dogs. I think they did pretty good for all the traffic we put them through. but I didn't want to throw them away. so, I got thinking.... My mom uses old stuff like that for cleaning rags after she's washed them one last time. But it seemed such a waste to tear up a mostly good king sized fitted sheet. So I thought, What could I make with the fabric that would use most of it. Then I thought about stuff I've been meaning to get for myself or my bed. Ta Da! Pillowcases! It was perfect. I've been meaning to get some new ones but why should I BUY new ones for 14 bucks a pair ( I only have king sized pillows, that's another story)  when I can make new ones for no cost at all? So I flipped of my existent pillowcases inside out, and made a little pattern for myself to make some new pillowcases. I now have two new pillowcases. Then, I think it was on the same day actually I ripped an old pair of capri shorts around the back of the leg because my thighs rub together and the insides of the legs wear out quick. Nasty yes, but hey, I'm working on it. I didn't want to throw them away because again I still saw them as perfectly good shorts. Although I didn't really want to patch them to wear them again. SO I got thinking. Maybe I could make Riley some shorts? Nah. Then it hit me.  I'll make Riley a cute denim skirt! So I did. I like to pride myself in the fact that I don't ever use a pattern for anything when I sew. And sometimes it works out , like it did for Riley's skirt, but other times... not so much like for Riley's Rapunzel dress. I cut out the existing rectangles of fabric sewed them together,  added a little elastic waist and added some button embellishments and BOOM I made a skirt.
Isn't it cute?! Tim helped her pose for the picture and everything. :) It's getting really fun to make Riley stuff because she's willing to let me do fittings and try on stuff so I can see if it'll fit.I also made some Easter dresses for the girls out of some  pre-shirred fabric from WalMart Riley HAD to HAVE because it's Dora.
I know they're aDORAble. He He Get it? Never mind. The kids are super cute if I do say so myself and the fact that they were both smiling and looking in the right direction when I took this picture makes me even more excited.:) I want to make Riley some jumper dresses out of some old tops that I have in my closet that I'll never be able to fit into again, so I'll keep the blog updated for those.  My Grandma also has some shirts she wants to give to me to "Repurpose"  which I am more than willing to do. that way I can make some sleeved tops to go under the jumper dresses or just to wear with jeans. I also saw a thing on pintrest on how to make leather shoes for kids out of an old purse!! What a cute idea right?!!! Deconstructing and reconstructing is so much fun for me. What would be really fun if I had a dress form that was my size double so I could make things for myself. :) Oh well littler things are easier to sew. :)
